We are building fair, community-owned energy solutions for the Isle of Wight, beginning with the island’s first Virtual Power Plant.
Set up by Green Isle of Wight CIC, we support practical solutions that cut carbon, reduce bills, and keep value local. Our first major initiative is Power Together, the island’s community-owned Virtual Power Plant. More projects will follow as we work to build a cleaner, fairer energy system for everyone.
Local people, partners and organisations shape each project so benefits stay aligned with real community needs.
Any surplus value is reinvested into community benefit. We don’t have external shareholders influencing priorities.
We work with trusted partners, including the Centre for Energy Equality, to apply tested models and reliable technology.
Our focus is on projects that reduce bills, cut carbon and build resilience across the island for years to come.
A pioneering Virtual Power Plant made up of smart batteries in homes, schools and small businesses across the Isle of Wight. This community-owned network will help residents cut energy bills, lowers carbon emissions, and supports a stronger local grid.
